Replying to Piphy:

If I'm not mistaken, the man you're referring to is Kurt Hovind. If so, then you're sadly mistaken believing a word that comes from his mouth. First of all, the ozone layer simply could not now, or ever have been, water. This is because Ozone is an isotope of water ( O3 ). Is it possible for there to have been a layer of water vapor surrounding the planet in place of the Ozone layer? Not likely, but I'm not a meteorologist, so I can't say for sure.

Next, you say that this supposed water layer would help protect humans from the sun. That's completely false (and is why I believe you're referencing Hoving). Water cannot protect you from the radiation from the sun any better than tissue paper could protect you from a nuclear bomb. This is due to the weight of water. The heavier a compound, the harder it is for radiation to pass through it due to its density. This is why we use Lead to protect ourselves when we receive X-Ray scans.

Finally, onto the giant skeletons. I know what skeletons you're referring to, and again, that's not an explanation for Stone Henge. Why is that? Those skeletons were uncovered in Africa. It's generally believed that they were a failed offshoot of the same evolutionary tree that we came from. They failed because they were so large that they did not have the surface area to properly vent heat through sweat, and essentially cooked alive. One thing is certain, however, and that is that these giants were not Homo Sapiens.

Oh, one last thing, the bible saying that people lived to be so old is likely a mistranslation or an error due to a different counting system.

Stonehenge was "restored" (rebuilt) around 1901. if you search on the net you will find the earlier painting of what it looked like in the 1800's. Still a good list but the association of a rubbish ,poorly researched novel with Rosslyn chapel is a bit annoying. Read "the Holy Blood and the Holy grail" for a far better researched factual account.

@KP: There actually was something on the Discovery Channel (or an affiliated channel) on the stone balls in Costa Rica. Basically, these two guys found the biggest and roundest rock they could, found some smaller rocks, and started pounding at it. When they discovered that their lack of working out had left them unsuited for masonry, they hired a couple local laborers to do it for them. It only took a day or two for the laborers to pound the big rocks into almost perfectly spherical shapes using nothing but some smaller, harder stones. There's still some questions about whether the original positions of the stones had any significance, but that's impossible to tell since most of them have been moved and used as landscaping decorations.
