Of all the UFO reports I’ve heard (not to mention my own experience), the eeriest ones are always from children who’ve had sightings. Why? It’s the clarity. Children see what we cannot, and remember it with a quality we can’t. Witness this report by Amy from Ohio:

“Thanks for your site. It’s amazing. I can’t believe there hasn’t been anywhere else to share stories and experiences like this before. Now we can finally start telling the truth.

“I wanted to share a story with you from my childhood. It’s a small incident, but one I’ve never forgotten. It happened on an autumn day in 1979 in a quiet neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, my hometown. I was playing in the backyard with the neighbor kids and we were running around on the lawns, climbing trees and goofing around as usual.

“All of a sudden, a strange, dark hum settled over the yard. The next thing I remember is lying flat on my back on the grass, looking up at the sky as a large craft passed overhead. It was round and purple, with red and white flashing lights at the edge of the semi-circular ‘wings.’ We could only see the broad underside as it passed over, but it appeared windowless. As if that wasn’t strange enough, I distinctly remember the sky ’strobing’ black and white, black and white. I know that sounds weird, but it’s the best I can do to describe it.

“In a few moments, it was gone. Everything was just as it was, but we kids were all astounded, asking each other, ‘Did you see that?! What was it?!’ We could only conclude that it was either an experimental aircraft from nearby Rickenbacker Air Force Base or Wright Field (which we had visited on field trips from school) or something from out of this world. I’ll never forget that day.
