Banned: Reincarnated Buddha Needs Government Approval

A new Chinese law went into effect September 1st requiring reincarnated Buddhas to seek governmental approval. The law stipulates that the Buddha shall not be reincarnated outside of China nor be influenced by foreign governments or organizations. Unauthorized reincarnations will be penalized by the government.
The laughable regulation is mostly aimed at the Dalai Lama who has resided outside of contested Tibet for the last half-century.
