Russian Scientists Discover Radiation-Absorbing Mineral

Russian scientists on the Kolsky Peninsula, home to one third of all new mineral discoveries each year, have found a mineral that can extract radioactive substances from any water-based solution. The practical applications for such a discovery are huge. Scientists will need to be able to reproduce the mineral synthetically since a tiny amount has been found in nature, but it could provide a failsafe for nuclear leaks in the future.
No word yet on whether anyone cares about the flag they left on the floor.
