Tiny Galaxies Help Unravel Dark Matter Mystery
Dwarf galaxies may be responsible for the dark matter at the fringes of our galaxy. New measurements are revealing that the small stars in the sparsely-populated mini-galaxies act as “dark matter factories” creating a thousand times more dark matter than normal matter. Oddly, all of these surveyed dwarf galaxies all have the same mass. Sounds like astronomers will be busy with this for some time to come.
