No, the site is not abandonware. I, for one, have been on a bit of a hiatus while enjoying the usual family visits for the holidays. I have enough seniority for a few days of vacation, so I’m gonna take it, dammit.
Zero, on the the other hand…not so sure that this is a “vacation.” I haven’t had a communiqué in weeks. I asked Don to look into it, but haven’t heard much but that’s to be expected. I understand that he’s in southeast Asia this time of year.
My own travels were not without incident. I understand that boarding a commercial aircraft in this day and age constitutes a surrender of all rights and privileges left to U.S. citizens. I understand it, but I don’t have to accept it. I knew I was in for trouble when I saw the “XXX” on my boarding pass. I figured that it wasn’t a reference to my former mode of employ, and boy, was I right. I was searched; my bags were searched. I wasn’t taken to the dreaded Inquisition Chamber, but a full-body pat-down is enough of a public spectacle, especially with the eager hands of the short little excuse for a man who was manning the TSA line.
My crime? Carrying extra lithium batteries. I’m not going to get into why I packed extra batteries, but needless to say I was shocked and awed by the TSA reaction. Guess I’ll have to pack up an RV next time…at least until they seal the state borders.
